'City of New Orleans'(시티 오브 뉴 올리언스)는 1971년에 발매한 미국의 포크 & 컨트리 싱어송라이터 스티브 굿맨(Steve Goodman)의 셀프 타이틀 앨범 7번 트랙에 수록된 컨트리 포크 송이다. 가사는 'City of New Orleans'라는 이름의 열차를 타고 가면서 느낀 달콤씁쓸하면서도 향수 어린 서정을 노래하고 있다.

굿맨은 아내의 가족을 방문하기 위해 일리노이 중앙철도 노선을 타고 여행하는 동안 'City of New Orleans'에 대한 아이디어를 얻었다. 이 노래는 1972년 알로 거스리(Arlo Guthrie)와 1984년 윌리 넬슨(Willie Nelson)의 히트 버전을 포함하여 미국과 유럽의 수많은 아티스트들에 의해 커버되었다.

'트레인스(Trains)' 매거진의 2017년 9월호 기사에는 'City of New Orleans'의 작사 및 취입 과정이 기록되어 있다. 시카고의 콰이엇 나이트(Quiet Knight) 바에서 알로 거스리를 만난 스티브 굿맨은 자신의 노래를 듣고 평가해달라고 요청했다. 거스리는 굿맨이 맥주를 사준다면 자신이 맥주를 마시는 동안 그의 연주를 들어주겠다는 조건으로 마지못해 동의했다. 굿맨이 부르는 'City of New Orleans'를 듣자마자 거스리는 당장 취입을 하자고 요청할 정도로 이 노래를 좋아했다.

'City of New Orleans'는 거스리의 1972년 앨범 'Hobo's Lullaby'(호보스 럴러바이)에서 히트하여 빌보드 이지 리스닝(Easy Listening) 차트에서 4위, 빌보드 핫 100 차트에서 18위에 올랐다. 이 노래는 거스리의 유일한 차트 40위 진입곡이다.
