'A Case of You'(어 케이스 오브 유)는 1971년 캐나다 싱어송라이터 조니 미첼(Joni Mitchell)이 발매한 4집 앨범 'Blue'(블루)의 9번 트랙 수록곡이다. 미첼은 1970년 또는 그 이전에 'A Case of You'를 작곡했다.

'A Case of You'는 미첼의 앨범 'Blue'에 수록된 다른 노래와 마찬가지로 영국계 미국 싱어송라이터 그레이엄 내쉬(Graham Nash)와의 이별에서 영감을 받아 쓴 곡이라는 설이 있다. 미첼에게 영감을 준 사람은 내쉬가 아니라 캐나다 싱어송라이터이자 시인 레너드 코헨(Leonard Cohen)이라는 주장도 있다. 하지만 가장 가능성이 큰 용의자는 이 노래를 녹음할 때 연인 관계에 있던 미국의 싱어송라이터 제임스 테일러(James Taylor)다. 테일러는 그 당시 헤로인에 깊이 중독돼 있었다. 미첼이 'A Case of You'라고 한 것은 테일러의 헤로인 중독을 빗대어 말한 것으로 추정된다.

2011년 미첼과 'A Case of You'는 BBC Radio 4의 'Desert Island Discs' 청취자들에 의해 각각 여성 아티스트 1위, 여성 노래 1위로 선정되었다. 이 노래는 1990년 영국 판타지 영화 'Truly, Madly, Deeply(트룰리, 매들리, 디플리) , 산드라 블록과 니콜 키드먼 주연의 1998년 미국 로맨틱 코미디 판타지 영화 'Practical Magic'(프랙티컬 매직), 한국계 캐나다 배우 산드라 오(오미주)도 출연한 2000년 미스터리 영화 'Waking the Dead'(웨이킹 더 데드) 등의 사운드 트랙에 삽입되었다. 그러나 미첼은 2013년 로맨틱 코미디 영화 'A Case of You'(한글 제목 '온리 포 유')에 대해서는 이 노래의 사운드 트랙 시용을 거부했다.

미첼은 'frightened by the devil(악마 때문에 겁에 질려 있지)', 하지만 'drawn to those ones that ain’t afraid(겁을 먹지 않는 이들에게 끌려)'라고 고백한다. 이처럼 'A Case of You'에는 현실에서 느낀 어떤 정신적 불안감이 스며 있다. 미첼이 직접 애팔래치안 덜시머(Appalachian Dulcimer)를 연주하면서 노래한 이 곡은 멜로디와 가사가 완벽한 조화를 이루고 있다. 미첼의 연인 테일러는 사랑의 감정을 담은 기타 사운드를 보탠다. 퍼커션 파트도 있는 듯 없는 듯 등장한다.
