'Allons à Lafayette'(알롱 아 라파예트)는 1928년에 미국의 아코디언 연주자 조 팰컨(Joe Falcon)과 기타리스트 겸 보컬리스트 클레오마 뷰로(Cléoma Breaux) 부부가 취입한 78rpm 싱글의 B면 수록곡이다. 이 곡은 전통 가요 'Jeunes gens campagnard'(존느 젼 컴파니아)를 바탕으로 한 것이다. 

 

싱글 'Allons à Lafayette'(알롱 아 라파예트)

오케 레코드(Okeh Records)가 1925년에 닥터 제임스 F. 로치(Dr. James F. Roach)의 노래를 발표하지 않은 것은 미스터리다. 'Allons à Lafayette'는 공식적으로 녹음된 최초의 상업적인 케이전(Cajun) 노래로 알려져 있다. 케이전은 영국인이 18세기에 프랑스 식민지였던 아카디아(지금의 노바스코샤와 그 주변 지역)를 정복한 뒤 남부 루이지애나의 비옥한 늪지에 이주·정착했던 프랑스계 캐나다인의 후손을 말한다.

'Allons à Lafayette'의 가사는 파트너에게 루이지애나 주 라파예트에 가서 이름을 좀더 추악한 이름 'Mrs. Mischievous Comeaux'(미시즈 미스치버스 코메)로 바꿔달라고 요청하는 남자의 이야기를 다룬다. 가수는 서로 둘 다 멀리 떨어져 있고, 그녀의 아름다움이 성격보다 훨씬 낫다고 생각하면서 화가 난다.
