'Future Days'(퓨처 데이즈)는 1973년에 발매된 독일의 실험적 록 그룹 캔(Can)의 네 번째 스튜디오 앨범의 타이틀 곡이자 오프닝 트랙이다. 'Future Days'는 일본 태생의 보컬리스트 다모 스즈키(Damo Suzuki)가 참여한 마지막 캔의 앨범이었다.
'Future Days'의 녹음 세션에는 다모 스즈키(보컬, 퍼커션)를 비롯해서 홀거 추카이(Holger Czukay, 베이스, 더블 베이스), 미카엘 카롤리(Michael Karoli, 기타, 바이올린), 야키 리베차이트(Jaki Liebezeit, 드럼, 퍼커션), 이르민 슈미트(Irmin Schmidt, 키보드, 신시사이저) 등이 라인업으로 참여했다.
'Future Days'는 캔의 자유로운 영혼, 다모 스즈키가 참여한 최후의 앨범이다. 앨범의 타이틀 트랙은 쾰른을 주요 무대로 삼았던 그룹 캔이 남긴 가장 아름다운 곡이라고 할 수 있다. 캔은 1972년 싱글 'Spoon'(스푼)의 성공 덕분으로 여름휴가를 다녀왔다. 휴가에서 돌아온 캔은 러닝 타임 9분 길이의 대곡을 하나 탄생시킨다. 캔은 이 곡에서 평소와는 전혀 다른 여유로움을 보여주는 한편, 본래 이들의 전형이라 할 수 있는 타악기적 암류(暗流)를 그대로 담았다.
'Future Days'는 야키 리베차이트의 보사노바 색채 비트로 곡이 마침내 움직임을 보이기까지 90여초의 시간이 걸린다. 이 곡은 또, 전자 음향, 삐걱대는 소리, 소용돌이치는 스트링 섹션이 만들어내는 몽롱한 안개 속에서 곡이 시작되는 등 팝송과는 매우 거리가 멀다. 이는 리베차이트가 과거에 유럽의 프리재즈 트럼펫 주자 만프레드 슈프의 제자였기 때문이다.
미카엘 카롤리의 기타는 마치 파도 사이를 유유히 가르듯 빈둥빈둥 어슬렁거린다. 홀거 추카이의 베이스는 마치 있는 듯 없는 듯, 메트로놈 소리처럼 울려 퍼진다. 다모 스즈키의 슬쩍 감추어진 듯한 보컬은 이 트랙에서 매우 절제된 모습이다. 하지만 그의 멜로디만큼은 잔잔하고 낙관적이다.
