'Rhythm Nation(리듬 네이션)'은 1989년 9월 19일 발매된 US 싱어송라이터/배우/댄서 재닛 잭슨(Janet Jackson)의 4집 앨범 'Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation 1814(재닛 잭슨스 리듬 네이션 1814)' 2번 트랙이다. 이 트랙은 그해 10월 23일 앨범에서 두 번째 싱글로 커트되어 나왔다. 노래보다 뮤직 비디오가 더 유명한 이 곡은 재닛의 대표곡이다. 재닛은 '팝의 황제' 마이클 잭슨(Michael Jackson)의 여동생으로도 유명하다.

곡목 'Rhythm Nation'은 '리듬 나라, 음악 세상' 정도의 뜻이다. 의역(意譯)하면 '리듬-음악으로 하나 되는 세상'이라고 할 수 있다. 이 노래를 1990년대 국가(國歌, national anthem)로 생각한 재닛은 프랜시스 스캇 키(Francis Scott Key)가 현재 US 국가의 가사가 된 시(詩) 'The Star-Spangled Banner(별이 빛나는 깃발, 星條旗)'를 쓴 해 '1814'를 앨범 제목에 붙였다. 'Rhythm'과 'Nation' 이니셜 'R'과 'N'은 각각 앨퍼벳의 18, 14번째 글자다. 그 서수(序數) '18'과 '14'를 합한 '1814'를 곡목에 붙였다는 설도 있다.
