2001년 마이애미 기반의 신생 저메이카 프로덕션 팀 블랙 섀도우(Black Shadow)는 버즈(The Buzz)라고 불리는 새로운 댄스홀 리딤을 만들었다. 2002년에는 댄스홀 스타와 신진 아티스트들이 부른 약 12개의 트랙 중 저메이카 댄스홀 뮤지션 엘리펀트 맨(Elephant Man)의 'Haters Wanna War'(헤이터스 워너 워), 코브라(Cobra)의 'Press Trigger'(프레스 트리거), 저메이카 레게 아티스트 시즐라(Sizzla)의 'Pump Up'(펌프 업) 등 4개 트랙이 히트했다. 션 폴의 'Give Me the Light'는 중독성 있는 후렴구로 인기를 끌었다. 버즈는 2002년 가장 큰 댄스홀의 리딤이 되었으며, 스티븐 '렌키' 마스든(Steven 'Lenky' Marsden)의 앨범 이름을 딴 디왈리(Diwali) 리딤이 그 뒤를 이었다. 블랙 섀도우는 2003년에 'Surprise'(서프라이즈) 리딤으로 버즈를 이어받았다.
'Gimme the Light'의 무편집 버전은 션 폴의 다른 노래들처럼 마리화나에 대한 앤섬(anthem)이다. 한국에서라면 금지곡 1순위였을 것이다. 가사는 미국풍 힙합 말투에 저메이카의 은어가 곳곳에 들어가 있다. 후렴에 나오는 드로(dro)는 수경 재배된 마리화나를 말한다. 앨범 'Dutty Rock'의 편집 버전은 'pass dro' 대신 'Just gimme light and start show'(불 좀 줘, 그리고 쇼를 시작하자)라는 가사를 담고 있다. 폴은 또한 클럽에 나가 술 한 잔 마시기 위해 여자들을 살펴본다. 마리화나에 대한 언급은 편집 버전에서는 삭제되었다.
