'Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody'(저스트 어 지걸로우/아이 에인트 갓 노바디)는 다른 두 노래 'Just a Gigolo'(그저 제비족)와 'I Ain’t Got Nobody'(나는 외톨이)의 메들리이다. 'Just a Gigolo'는 1929년 미국 작사가 어빙 시저(Irving Caesar)가 오스트리아 노래 'Schöner Gigolo, armer Gigolo'(쇠너 지골로, 아르머 지골로)를 각색한 대중가요다. 독일어 곡목은 '멋진 지골로, 가련한 지골로'란 뜻이다.
'I Ain't Got Nobody'는 'I'm So Sad and Lonely'(난 너무 슬프고 외로워) 또는 'I Ain't Got Nobody Much'(난 너무 외톨이)라고도 한다. 스펜서 윌리엄스(Spencer Williams)가 쓴 곡에 라저 그레이엄(Roger Graham)이 가사를 붙였다. 이 노래는 미국 팝 가수 마리온 해리스(Marion Harris)가 처음 취입한 이후 팝, 재즈, 컨트리 음악에 이르기까지 여러 세대에 걸쳐 다양한 스타일로 커버되는 영원한 표준곡이 되었다.
싱어송라이터 테너 색서포니스트 샘 부테라(Sam Butera)는 1950년대 싱어송라이터 밴드 리더이자 트럼피터 루이 프리마(Louis Prima)의 라스베이거스 사하라 카지노 라운지 쇼를 위해 이 두 곡을 대중적으로 편곡해서 흥겹고 신나는 자이브 앤 점핑 스타일(jive-and-jumping style) 메들리로 만들었다. 부테라는 소란스러운 연주 스타일, 독특한 유머, 빈정거리는 가사 등으로 유명한 연주자이자 작곡가였다.
메들리 'Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody'가 성공하자 루이 프리마는 캐피틀 레코드와 음반 계약까지 맺는 등 뮤지션 경력에 있어서 좋은 기회를 맞이했다. 메들리 곡은 1956년 11월에 발매된 프리마의 첫 번째 앨범 'The Wildest!'(더 와일디스트)의 오프닝 트랙에 수록되었다. 이후 이 메들리는 프리마의 대표곡으로 자리잡았다.
1978년 디스코 그룹 빌리지 피플(The Village People)은 'Just a Gigolo'와 'I Ain’t Got Nobody'를 각각 디스코 버전으로 커버해서 2집 앨범 'Macho Man'(마초 맨)의 4, 5번 트랙에 수록했다. 1985년 롸커 데이비드 리 로쓰(David Lee Roth)는 메들리 'Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody'를 커버해서 EP 'Crazy From The Heat'(크레이지 프롬 더 하트)의 2번 트랙에 실었다.
